Not Quite Food Related, but Did You Know?...

Hi, sorry it’s been a while since I last wrote a blog, and to be fair this isn’t all my work but eh ho!

I copied this from someone advertising their re-useable kitchen roll and not food related but I did think the information was interesting so thought you might too.

“DID YOU KNOW..

Research shows households worldwide get through 6.5 million tonnes of kitchen paper annually. Whilst some will be composted or recycled, the majority will end up on landfill.

Alongside the astonishing amount of waste being produced by the use of kitchen roll, the production of kitchen paper itself involves the chopping down of many trees and the use of a lot of water (in fact, one tonne of kitchen paper uses 17 trees and 20,000 gallons of water.)”

Apparently if a household uses around 2 kitchen rolls a week, even the cheapest kitchen roll, for the year costs around £50+ not to mention the overall cost to the environment.

I think even if you don’t want to give it up completely and/or use reusable, just having this knowledge makes you at least want to use less doesn’t it???
